Am I A Republican Or A Democrat? NO! I’m An Independent!

Good Morning!  For the record, I, Cynthia Eksuzian, am an Independent.  If you please, I would like to offer a few poetic verses and photos to expand on my meaning of being an Independent.   Please don’t forget this, if and when political ideologies tend to swirl about with labels.  Thank you!

Oh, and thanks to WordPress.com  I have a wonderful place to blog this declaration!

Cynthia Eksuzian, Independent

Am I a Republican
Or a Democrat?
NO!  I’m an Independent
And you must respect that!

MyDad took this photo before I drove across our beautiful United States to live in Montana. By the way and for the record, the color of my clothing and the quantity of the color have absolutely no labels or political references what so ever!

Political parties,
I am trying to help you
Understand a fact.
You are not allowed
To use my value
To propagate your ideologies
Or to play
The other party against me.

I’m saying this now, because,
Thanks to this blog,
I have the chance!
NO, you can’t label me.
I’m an Independent
And you must respect that!

I won’t be a part of
Any party’s indirect maneuvers,
To secure votes and favors,
Through the Arts, Religion, or Business,
Or anywhere else for that matter!
I’m an independent
And you must respect that!

I’m a woman.

Simplicity

I’m a mother.

Moving Inventory

I’m a business person.
I’m for the People,

Because I’m for God
These are the facts.

I’m saying this now.
NO, you can’t label me
One or the other.
I’m an Independent
And you must respect that!

The great divide
In our country
Has hurt us People.
All of us,
Even Republicans
And Democrats!

Because it seems as though
All Democrats and Republicans do
Is fight over podiums,
Instead of choosing,
For We, The People,
To pursue common interests!
You may challenge me!
Am I myopic in this fact?

I surely hope
Some impartial vibration
Will infiltrate our legislation
And a courageous leader
Will understand this
And put us American People first,
To heal our country
In our all important
Matters of living.

Am I frivolous
In conceiving this notion?
Large adversities usually precipitate
A momentum of change
Maybe, it will come to this!

It doesn’t matter where we live!
MASSACHUSETTS
CALIFORNIA
MONTANA
NORTH CAROLINA
Or any of the other States
In our most beautiful America!
We are all together in this!

IF I choose to vote
In this election,
It will only be
Because a representative
From some party
Chose to remember
We, The People!
So, I’ll just have to wait,
And see.

Candidates,
Remember We, The People
In your political addresses.
When you stand on your podiums,
Remember who put you there,
Besides good ol’ boy favors
With large sums of campaign finances.
We, The People put you there,
To help our country flourish!

So I am asking,
Please don’t mislead us!
Please, I ask
Remember this,
Instead of collapsing into
Dueling ego trips!

Are you listening?
Am I a Republican
Or a Democrat?
NO,  I’m an Independent
And you must respect that!

Whether I dance or sing
Ou je fais la cuisine,                                  Coq Au Vin

Clean and quarter the mushrooms. Leave out of the marinade and don’t put in the dish for cooking until 15 minute before you take the Coq au Vin out of the oven!

Prepare the vegetables and herbs, I used yellow pearl onions, fresh rosemary, time and oregano!

Marinate your chicken pieces, pearl onions, and herbs in Vin Rouge  (I used an American Red Blend, 14 Hands) for 24 hours

Fabulous tasting Coq Au Vin!  Oops!  And don’t forget the bacon, I used Canadien bacon, sauteed, a few pieces, to include in the dish!  Many great Coq Au Vin recipes abound!  This is such a comfort food and great with a French Baguette and a green salad!

Create business, volunteer to help others,
Or participate in living my chances,
I’m a woman.
I’m a mother.
I’m a business person.
I’m for the people.

All of this
Because I’m for God!
Please don’t forget these facts.
I’m an independent
And you must respect that!

Bon  Apetit!

22 June 2012.  I have decided to add a video to this posting.   I learned a new song on my guitar, one of my favorite songs, and I think it is totally appropriate media for the content in this post.  I am singing Phil Collins song, “Inside Out.”  If you click to play and listen, thanks very much!  :).  Cindy.

  1. Here is a concrete consideration as to what I mean by common interests that we as an American population could potentially have. I’m sure that there are many American like me, who have been unemployed for a while and have had to sell their IRA to live and to pay for higher education.
This subject would relate to Tax Reform and here is my question that I’m sure may interest many other Americans. I’ll use myself as an example. With current tax law as it is, when we withdraw from our IRA we have to pay the current Federal Tax for income. In addition, the IRA house charges us 10% on what we withdraw. It would certainly make it easier on us unemployed who have had to live off our IRAs due to a poor economy and high unemployment if we had a tax break for being in this position. I thought a comment would be more useful here than a poetic stanza!

  2. After the President’s speech last night about creating more equality in America, another idea concerning common interests, Tax Law Reform and reducing the divide between Democrats and Republicans came to mind. Instead of penalizing millionaires for their tenacity and hard work in realizing the American Dream, why not reform tax law on income? Offer millionaires or business people a TAX INCENTIVE to contribute some of their hard earned income to a cause that could promote more business within the less advantaged income demographic in our country? This idea offers respect to more than just one party.

  3. This comment is in regards to our choice to engage association, whether it be through family, community, business, religion, politics, public relations, our work environment, etc. as we endeavor to live our true light.
The Gospel of Matthew 9:10-13 A Paralytic Healed

10 Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.
11 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?”
12 But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
13 “But go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

So it is my sense in this passage that in forgiveness and demonstration of His light, Jesus sits with tax collectors and sinners to help them see His light and the way to Him, NOT to be influenced into associations or made to appear as though one’s choice is for such associations.

IT is a challenging world today, in which to live and work. Even if our personal power (self respect) is overshadowed by structural power in any arena, of those sources or groups, who may have sincere overtures towards us or overtures with agendas that are not for our highest good, it does not matter. The message from Jesus is to stay strong in living our true light, He that is in us, as we endeavor to engage associations for relationship in our world.

For if we are close and listening to Him we will know what to do in regards to association. The Gospel of Matthew The Twelve Disciples; Instructions for Service 10:11-14

11 “And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay at his house until you leave that city.”
12 “As you enter the house, give it your greeting.”
13 “If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace.”
14 “Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.”

May the blessing of the LORD, God be upon us as we live and work in today’s world and may He help us choose to live the light He has given us.

  4. Does being “an independent,” mean that I fall into a categorization of labels constructed by gallop poll survey’s and then advertised through media channels because politics and media channels are such a huge vein of communication?

    Not in my opinion.

I discovered the following quote today. And what concerned me about it was the power that political venues combined with media channels have to cause a social norm condition that could affect the validity of our constitution and the rights of voice we individual American citizens have as our constitution is currently written.

“The latest national survey … finds that the partisan divide over gay marriage continues to widen,” the forum said. The survey also found that 51 percent of independents now favor gay marriage…”

This quote was taken from the following web link article.

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/07/31/13052642-survey-partisan-divide-over-gay-marriage-widens?lite

Can conditions like these undermine our constitution as it is written, therefore our constitutional rights?

  5. Government spending for tax payer assistance. There are so many areas in our country where citizens are hurting. We should be prioritizing our government spending in such a way where tax payer assistance funding helps the majority moving into the future.

We have a drought that is affecting our food chain. We all have to eat. On the top of the priority list of places in our country’s economy who need this assistance the most, who produce and support the majority of American’s basic human needs are crops and food production areas.

In my opinion, this is the first place government spending of tax payer dollars should be focusing on.

Other countries will have their own environmental adversities that will affect the global food chain. It would be very prudent to focus our efforts of food production and distribution domestically, from the heart of our communities and support our local farmers. Stick to food that supports basic human needs.

  6. I came upon the following news article today. It is such a positive sign for the continuing growth of our local communities in terms of supporting the structures that supply basic human needs.

  7. This comment is about taking responsibility and NOT sacrificing it.

I ask, isn’t it a better way to team building, for not just the individual but the larger picture of ALL involved, to take responsibility for actions and consequence. Shouldn’t dealing with the “bad” be no different than dealing with the “good,” especially when we are all part of an incident? Doesn’t taking each other out, in the long run, breed separation and mistrust? Acknowledging our mistakes and taking credit for all parts from individual right up to management and leadership works to “build each other up” over time, and is a more compassionate way to go, even as reprimanding and/or punishment are appropriate. This course of interaction has the opportunity to build respect from all view points and the opportunity for cohesiveness in relationship building. When the larger picture is viewed from the environment, such an approach can be perceived as being collaboration and lifting bad behavior to good behavior! 🙂

    Matthew 7:1-5 Judging Others
“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
2″For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
3″Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4″Or how can you say to your brother, “Let me take the speck out of your eye,” and behold, the log is in your own eye?
4″You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

    Matthew 9:13 A paralytic healed
13 “But go and learn what this means: ‘I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/03/13107242-military-service-members-not-bosses-to-blame-in-colombia-prostitution-scandal?lite

“The misconduct prior to the Summit of the Americas resulted from “individual decisions,” and not a single, coordinated party or event condoned by superiors, it added.”
