The Calvary

I like it that this picture is nondescript in geography identity, other than earth and sky. It could be the sun shining through our cloudy grey, opening the gateway to heaven anywhere in the world.

The Calvary

It is written in the Bible,
And even in the dictionary,
That Calvary is the hill,
Upon which our Lord Jesus
Was crucified.
For our sins,
He brings us salvation.

It is wonderful to see our human efforts to lift up humanity. So many of us lift each other up every day.

The Calvary is come.
A quiet rumbling,
A thief in the night,
To save our existence.
To help the lowly.
To bring peace
To the downtrodden.

The Calvary is come,
In so many of us,
Those who help quietly and secretly,
And those who “Act” publicly,
His beauty and His righteousness.

The Calvary is come,
In a forceful weather pattern,
To give comfort to widows,
And reveal treachery,
So justice breaths
Truth in our living.

Vibrations of consciousness that lift us when we listen to Him.

The Calvary is come,
Help one can count on,
Help one can believe in,
On a rainy day,
In snow and ice,
Through natural disasters
And dubious strife.
To help those,
Whose lives are hurting.
Let’s lift our faces to His Sun.
The Calvary is come.

A field of sunflowers planted on the prairie East of the Continental Divide, Montana, a long and quiet stretch of wilderness.

The Calvary is come.
The earth, the sky,
The Sun,
The heaven so high,
The waters and vegetation.
Over a mountain
By a grocery store called Albertson’s.

An amazing burst of light that came through some dark clouds after a storm.

East Missoula, MT a burst of light coming out of the clouds from an afternoon storm.

The Calvary is come.
The animal kingdom,
In a white horse
Made not to campaign,
A white horse
Made not to war
A white horse
Made not to pretend goodness.

Gosh if this horse doesn't remind me of Mr. Ed, who in that wonderful T.V. program always told it like was!

In a white horse
Who loves God so much.
He’s the rider
Of the Sun,
To shine light
In the darkness.

How wonderful it is to capture on camera the movement of animals.

Don’t stop
Thinking about tomorrow
Because the Calvary is here,

Now I am inclined to ponder
Since I am only human.
Because we are earthlings,
I must pose a query,
To all and one.

One of the most wonderful things we can do is cook for each other.

Do you think
There is a chance
The rider likes
Mac n’ cheese
With ham and minced onion
Or perhaps a dinner of roast chicken?

May we help each other eat and be sustained.

A table.

If he does,
He is welcome,
And I shall cook for him,
And set a table,
So when he becomes hungry,
He’ll know my door is open.

He can stop and rest,
Until the LORD calls upon him
To move again.
We bring sustenance
To each other,
For the LORD’s salvation.

The Gospel According to Matthew 21:1-5  The Triumphal Entry

A picture of Jesus, taken at the Shrine of the Divine Innocents, Eden Hill, Stockbridge, Massachusetts on Divine Mercy Weekend, 2011.

When they had approached Jerusalem
And had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives,
then Jesus sent two disciples,

2  saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you,
And immediately you will find a donkey tied there
And a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.

3  “If anyone says anything to you, you shall say,
‘The Lord has need of them.’  and immediately,
he will send them.”

  1. To all of those who are making their pilgrimage to the LORD this Divine Mercy Weekend. May you be blessed with the free offer of His Mercy. May the LORD bless all of His servants helping those, who make their pilgrimage to the LORD for Mercy. Amen.

Isaiah 55: 1-3 The Free Offer of Mercy

“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters
And you who have no money come, buy and eat.
    Come, buy wine and milk.
    Without money and without cost.”

2 “Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
    And delight yourself in abundance.”

3 “Incline your ear and come to Me.
    Listen, that you may live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
According to the faithful mercies shown to David.”
