Authority, Define Obligation!

Authority, Define Obligation!

Authority is taking
A perverse turn.
It appears to be trying
To obligate citizens
Into believing,
Lives can’t be without them.

This breeds fear.
For the slithering serpent
Of undeserved entitlement
It’s ugly head will rear!

Herein lies the collapse
Of a Constitution
And the cherished freedoms
It was built upon?

This is an admission
To the public for which it stands.
Is authority’s motive
To gain more control
Over the population?

Why?
What’s happening to
The Fourth Of July?

Obligation can be legitimate,
When it’s a matter of moral responsibility.
But when obligation is used
To unjustly
Control a social construction
For selfish reasons,

Then the truth is,
That authority has given
Perversity to the meaning
Of obligation.

This sentiment expressed
Works against generations
Of a country’s living,
And instead of endearment,
For the Authority,
Those it presently affects
Feel outrage and exploitation.

Can we change the vein
That drives this train?
Are we not a country, circular
In our vast geography?

United input
According to our station,
Feeds our wholeness
In living!
Truly,
In this way,
We none of us
Are more or less important!

Entrepreneurs create wealth
And jobs,
An economic burgeoning!
This keeps our circle rotating,
For the taxes paid
Are managed by the authority
To help our lives be
Sustained, educated, reinvested,
In our train.

United we stand, right?
Hasn’t this been the way?
Redeem the emotion
Of our united cherished freedoms!

Remove class warfare.
Remove elitism.
These are consciousness
To go away!

We ALL have strengths
For each other,
So let’s continue our circle,
Now, USA!

God Bless America  🙂

One Response to Authority, Define Obligation!

  1. After the last couple of days of watching the political debate regarding our individual and community economic stations from a macro perspective, a passage from St. Paul came to me strongly. It is my sense that God has placed us together in such a way so as to help us, we Americans, to help each other rise to this conception.

Here is the passage: 1 Corinthians 12:1-7 The Use Of Spiritual Gifts
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.
2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is LORD,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same LORD.
6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Can we not see how our individual choice of material station in life is like a piece of a puzzle that when fits with the whole, completes the circle?

    God Bless America.
